Meet Mrs. Flake!

Hello!! My name is Kaitlyn Flake and I am SUPER excited to be a third grade teacher at Thatcher Elementary School! I graduated in 2010 with my B.S. degree in Elementary Education from NAU. I absolutely love teaching and working hard to help my students succeed.

I live in Thatcher in a duplex that my husband and I have been fixing up for the last 4 years. I am married and have 3 dogs: Penny, Harley, and Basher. I enjoy playing the violin, singing, going on cruises, serving, and... TEACHING!

I am so excited for an amazing year in third grade!

Class Rules

Our class decided to use our class promise as class rules this year. If all of our students remember this promise and live by it, then we will be great citizens!

Class Promise
When we care about each other and our classroom, we share, take turns, and help each other learn. We listen carefully, always try our best, work hard, give each other praise, and have fun together. We know that everyone makes mistakes, and we won’t make fun of them. We think about what is right and stop when someone asks us to. This is who we are when no one is watching.

Spelling Lists and Reading Cards

Spelling lists and reading cards are located on the 3rd grade department website. Click on the link below to get to them.

Upcoming Activities

The end is almost here! We have a lot going on in the next couple of weeks. There will be no homework the whole last week of school, but until then, please continue completing homework with your student. Check your student's reading cards for fun activities that are happening the last week of school.

I can't believe we are already here! It flew by! I am so thankful for you and your students for making this year ROCKIN'!

Previous Activities

We had a great time during Love of Reading week! We heard some great poetry from Bunny Dryden, had some wonderful people come read to us,and even got to make blanket forts to read in! The students had a great time and did LOTS of reading!!
