My name is Steve Hooper. It has been my privilege to teach at Thatcher Elementary for 37 years. I’ve always felt our great results as a school stem from the fact that we have great students with supportive parents. Thank you for preparing your students for success. 2012-2013 will be a great year for all of us. Our class has some great readers. Each student needs to read and report on at least 25 library books during the year. We will present recognition awards for reading at the end of the year. Thanks again for preparing your students for a great year.

Our students will be having fun and working hard going into February. Please drill multiiplication facts each night. Flash cards and timed tests are a great way to do this. Students shouldn't have that much math homework. If they don't finish in class they will bring the work home to finish. Please check over your student's work each night.

Reading
Our class has some great readers. All subjects are hinged on reading skills. Please have your students read at least 20 minutes daily. Oral reading to a sibling or parent is wonderful. Each student needs 25 or more book reports for the year. Thank you, Mr. Hooper
