Welcome to 7th Grade Science!
My name is Cindy Rickert and I'll be teaching 7th grade Science this year as well as the Science Adventure Class.
If you have any questions for me please don't hesitate to get a hold of me.
In my information section there is a supply list. There is also a "wish list", anytime you want to donate supplies it's greatly appreciated.
I also teach Science Adventure. This is an elective Science class where we do lots of fun projects. We work with different types of rockets, structures, CSI unit, catapults, mini hot air balloons, marble activities and tons more! It's a lot of fun...and definately not your typical elective!

2nd Semester here we come!!!
For the 2nd Semester we are going to learn about earthquakes and volcanoes. I am going to expect a little more out of my students, I won't be as lenient with late work and there will be more times there will be more homework. I am still going to require a current event but I will cut it back to once a month. I am debating the parent input assingment. I started it because parents had expressed a desire to know more about what we were doing in class. I may cut it back to doing it at the end of each unit as a study tool before each test. Please let me know how I can help your student be successful.

Lesson Plans
Here is a rough sketch of what we will be covering this week. Sometimes we get more in a day and sometimes it takes longer than planned. If your student is absent please email me or contact the office so I can get them what they missed that day.
Monday- Welcome back discuss bellwork. Take the Benchmark #3 pretest. If anytime is left, clean out binders and get ready for the the next unit.
Tuesday- Watch Megaquake, the hour that shook Japan from United Streaming
Wednesday - Section 1 vocabulary foldable. Quaking, shaking Earth ppt notes part 1/ notes pg 1, review pg. 300-303 WS pg. 22
Thursday- Quaking, shaking Earth ppt notes part 2, notes pg 2, Section 2 Vocabulary foldable.
Friday- complete Section 2 vocabulary foldable, pg. 124-125 Reinforcement
